Senior Clinician - Occupational Therapist

Salary Range:         $104,551.89 - $121,307.82 (depends on experience) + superannuation + salary packaging

Allied Health, Therapy is seeking a leader who will be responsible for providing best practice, evidence-informed occupational therapy services to support people with a disability to achieve their goals and lead the life of their choosing. You will hold a strong understanding of working within a human rights practice framework, person-centred and family centred practice, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary models of support and have leading clinical skills.

In addition to managing a clinical case load this position carries a portfolio of specialist clinical practice. You will be responsible for providing strong practice leadership across the organization and contribute to research and development, policy and practice frameworks, supporting clinical risk management as required, workforce planning, staff education and training in areas of specialist clinical knowledge, practice supervision and practice effectiveness including clinical audit to enhance the services we deliver.

 

Key Role responsibilities

Organisational Accountabilities:

  • Manage a clinical caseload within the scope of practice, ensuring high-quality care and support for individuals with disabilities.
  • Meet clinical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in alignment with divisional requirements to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Support divisional objectives and priorities by delivering organizational training and actively participating in key projects as needed.
  • Attend organizational meetings and mandatory training sessions to stay updated on best practices and organizational policies.
  • Adhere to Yooralla's policies, procedures, and management instructions to maintain compliance and uphold organizational standards.
  • Embrace and promote Yooralla's purpose, vision, promise, and values in all aspects of work.

Clinical Knowledge Areas:

  • Conduct assessments of age and developmentally appropriate functional daily living skills and implement interventions as necessary to enhance independence and well-being.
  • Assess the built environment and prescribe minor home modifications or low-tech assistive technology to improve occupational performance.
  • Evaluate, prescribe, and implement basic and complex assistive technology solutions to support functional independence and participation.
  • Provide services related to safe manual handling, including assistive technology prescription, manual handling profiles development, and caregiver training.
  • Facilitate access to education, employment, leisure, and recreation opportunities in the community to promote social participation and overall well-being.
  • Manage pressure injury prevention, sensory processing, and falls prevention strategies to ensure the safety and health of individuals with disabilities.

Expert Skill and Application:

  • Demonstrate expert skills and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: assistive technology, pressure injury prevention, sensory processing, falls prevention, supporting access to education or community or employment, and early childhood intervention.
