Yooralla is seeking a dynamic and experienced Specialist Behaviour Support – Senior Clinician (Registered Psychologist) to join our dedicated team. As a Senior Clinician, you will utilize Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), a human-rights focused and evidence-based approach, to support individuals with disabilities in enhancing their quality of life and reducing behaviors of concern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effectiveness through direct clinical work.
  • Manage a complex clinical case load using person/family-centered frameworks and evidence-informed interventions.
  • Provide supervision to Positive Behaviour Support team, Provisional Psychologists and clinical students.
  • Apply concepts of disability and PBS.
  • Develop Interim Behaviour Support Plans and conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments.
  • Translate assessment findings into evidence-informed Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Implement and adapt strategies to different environments.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve quality of life.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Conduct psychological assessments and counselling as part of the Yooralla Psychology Clinic.
  • Participate in professional development and practice supervision.

About You

You must have excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, alongside a proven ability to manage relationships with stakeholders. You must demonstrate analytical and problem-solving capabilities and have an understanding of sector-wide issues and clinical service delivery models. While not mandatory, lived experience of disability is considered highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for working with and supporting people with disabilities, demonstrating an ethical, client-focused approach to their work. They should be a team player with strong leadership skills, fostering collaboration and teamwork while respecting diversity, culture, and values. The candidate should empower individuals to exercise choice and control over their lives, maintaining integrity, honesty, and accountability in all interactions and decisions.

To be successful in this role you’ll share Yooralla’s values and have:

  • Post-graduate qualification in psychology.
  • Full registration as a psychologist with AHPRA.
  • Registration as an Advanced/Specialist Practitioner under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Proficient/Advanced Practitioner, ideally under the NDIS PBS Capability Framework.
  • Registration (or eligibility) as a Board Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board (AHPRA).
  • Current National Police Record Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and driver's license.
  • Access to own vehicle.
