About the Role

In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll manage a residential service supporting five male clients with disabilities, in enhancing the quality of life and, where applicable, their families. 

Your Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of Disability Support Workers, fostering engagement and addressing any long-standing issues.
  • Performance Management: Ensure the overall performance of the service aligns with annual work plans and meets established targets.
  • Person-Directed Support: Promote person-directed support and community participation that exceeds minimum disability standards, all within available resources.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage the day-to-day operations of supported accommodation services, surpassing identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support Excellence: Provide high-quality support to customers and their families, offering management support to care staff and hand-on involvement on the floor for minimum 2 hours/day.
  • Please note that this role includes a component of rostered after-hours on-call duty.

About You

To be successful in this role you'll share Yooralla's Values and have:

  • Management Experience: Demonstrated management experience, preferably within a community services environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Experienced leader or a support worker ready to step up as a leader
  • Sector Knowledge: Understanding of legislation and standards relevant to the disability sector.
  • Person-Centered Approach: Knowledge and understanding of how to support staff in implementing contemporary and person-centered approaches to uphold the rights and support needs of individuals with disabilities and behaviors of concern, promoting positive outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Resource Management: Demonstrated ability to manage financial and staff resources within a complex environment.
  • Initiative and Organization: Excellent initiative, self-directed work practices, and highly developed organizational skills.
  • A relevant qualification and/or significant experience in the human services area
