Join our finance team as a Systems Accountant and lead the integration of financial systems post-merger, driving data insights through Power BI and Jedox.
About the Role
The Systems Accountant sits within the central finance function and is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the finance IT systems, as well as assisting with staff training and financial and management accounting. This role is pivotal in transforming and integrating financial operations post-merger, ensuring the seamless integration of financial reporting and budget systems transitioning to a unified finance system. The Systems Accountant is a hands-on, solutions-focused role working collaboratively on the systems integration project as the lead administrator for the Business Intelligence tools (Power BI and Jedox).
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Support the Finance Leadership Team in driving system integration by collaborating with stakeholders to deliver key budgeting and reporting functionalities. Manage finance system changes, ensure project deliverables are met, and provide expert input into designing a best-practice finance system. Oversee daily system maintenance and promote continuous improvement.
- Financial and Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect financial system integrity. Ensure compliance, resolve system discrepancies, and support accurate financial reporting. Maintain the Chart of Accounts, optimise system configurations, and assist with audits and period-end processes.
- Process Improvement: Drive automation and process improvements to enhance financial system efficiency and data accuracy. Collaborate with IT on system upgrades and enhancements, and develop insightful reporting through BI tools. Champion continuous improvement in budgeting and reporting, ensuring BI development aligns with best practice.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong cross-functional relationships with Operations and IT to support data integrations and represent finance in financial systems integration projects.
- Training and Development: Mentor and upskill Finance team members by delivering training on system use and best practices. Support stakeholders in developing reports and KPI dashboards, and enhance staff capabilities with BI solutions.
Experience and Capabilities:
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar systems accounting role.
- Proficiency in financial platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Jedox
- Advanced Excel and data visualisation skills (Power BI)
- Previous experience and in-depth knowledge of finance systems integration processes
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement with the ability to work across teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Desired:
- Experience within the NFP sector or similar industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related discipline
