About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Disability Health, you will act as a clinical leader and advisor, supporting safe, high‑quality disability‑related health services across Yooralla.
You will collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team, support operational managers with complex clinical care planning, and ensure contemporary, evidence‑based practice is embedded across the organisation.
This role is ideal for an experienced nurse who enjoys autonomy, education, problem‑solving and influencing best practice within a values‑driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
In this impactful role, you will:
Clinical Assessment & Planning
- Complete holistic health assessments and develop tailored health support plans
- Contribute expert advice on complex health needs, infection control and preventative health strategies
- Support safe hospital discharges and continuity of complex supports
Leadership, Education & Capability Building
- Deliver individualised clinical training for support workers
- Conduct competency assessments for staff involved in health supports
- Provide expert delegation and supervision of care
Quality, Safety & Improvement
- Review incidents and provide clinical insights to strengthen practice
- Undertake audits related to health and clinical care
- Inform and refine policies, procedures and practice frameworks
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and client outcomes
Collaboration & Advocacy
- Work closely with clients, families and support networks to empower informed decision‑making
- Promote equitable access to health care and positive health outcomes
- Advocate for human rights and uphold NDIS Practice Standards
What You Bring
Mandatory
- Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent)
- Current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Evidence of Australian work rights
- International Police Check (if applicable)
Desired
- Experience in disability, community, or complex care nursing
- Knowledge of the Australian health system and NDIS
- Experience in education, training, or quality improvement
- Postgraduate qualifications in health or vocational education
