Business Analyst

Drive business analysis across an enterprise HRIS program strengthening workforce compliance, payroll integrity and processes
 
Berry Street Yooralla is embarking on a strategic, organisation-wide transformation to modernise and stabilise critical technologies, with a strong focus on HRIS and wage compliance.
 
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join this high-impact, multi-stream program, this role will play a pivotal part in shaping future ways of working across a large, complex, and purpose-driven organisation.
 

The Opportunity 

• Hybrid role: Melbourne Office on Wurundjeri Country
• Full Time, Fixed term (12 months) 
• $120K + Super and Salary packing


As a Business Analyst you will be working collaboratively across Berry Street Yooralla, you will analyse current processes, design future-state solutions, and ensure the delivery of fit-for-purpose, people-centred HRIS technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse current business processes and document clear requirements and future‑state (“to‑be”) processes.
  • Lead business process analysis activities, including workshops and synthesis of complex information.
  • Work with technical and business stakeholders to design improved practices that align with chosen technologies.
  • Develop artefacts (e.g. business requirements, system requirements, user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria) to ensure solutions deliver business value.
  • Communicate technical concepts in plain language (e.g. operational procedure definition) and, where necessary, support change readiness and transition activities.

About You 

You are a collaborative and adaptable Business Analyst who thrives in complex environments and values working in a purpose-driven organisation.
 
You will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience working on HRIS transformation programs, including people, process, and technology change
  • 5+ years’ Business Analysis experience, ideally across full project lifecycles
  • Strong capability in requirements elicitation using best practice frameworks (e.g. BABOK)
  • Experience facilitating workshops and engaging diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge, innovate, and improve outcomes
